Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theater actor writer, director and writer, and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor and acting coach. There are two older brothers, Dana Wood, a musician, and Ira David Wood IV, who has also performed. Evan and her brothers often performed at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. Her father founded it and is the director of operations. After a long audition process when she was just five years old, she old when she had the opportunity to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. In 1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom. She has been a prominent character in TV series or feature films as well as television movies since. She's appeared in Practical Magic (1998) and also starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She was then in Thirteen (2003) in which she starred alongside Holly Hunter. Her breakthrough role in the movie as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in the genre of Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role. When she received the nomination from SAG and was the youngest actor in the Leading Role category. For her role as Veda Pierce, in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011) was nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. The same award was given to her role as Stephanie (Mickey RourkeĆ¢€™s ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. The younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. Dancer. She loves dancing to sing, rollblade, and even horseback ride. She holds the black belt in tae kwon-do. Is still in touch with most of her Once and Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan as well as Shane West.
