Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the
daughter of Sandra Kay (Gale), a nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams, truck
driver and furniture moving company. Rachel is English, Welsh and Irish-born.
Rachel started acting at the age of thirteen. She was already performing in
Shakespearean plays in summer theater camp. Rachel graduated with honors from
York University with a BFA in Theater. After appearing in the Disney's The
Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998), she starred in Slings and Arrows, a
Canadian comedy-drama that chronicles the struggles and triumphs of an
Shakespearean theatre group. In 2003, she was awarded an award called a Gemini
award. Her role as Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004) immediately was a hit on
Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses. After that film she was cast as
the opposite of Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004). It was a smash at the box
office and soon became the most popular romantic drama for the new generation
of filmgoers. McAdams and Gosling began to fall in love while filming and
continued to be together up to the middle of 2007. McAdams is next in film with
the comedy Wedding Crashers (2006), the thriller Red Eye (2004), as well as the
holiday-themed drama The Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored
independent filmmaking with Married Life (2007) which premiered at Toronto Film
Festival. It also featured Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper in addition to
Patricia Clarkson. McAdams starred in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play
(2008) and State of Play (2008), respectively. McAdams also appeared in The
Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international
smash Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the fiery producer of a failed
morning television show in Morning Glory (2010), the materialistic fiancee of
Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011), and returned to romantic
drama in the hit film The Vow (2012) opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams also
starred alongside Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and
also alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian de Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In
2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year"
Award as well as the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the
Hollywood Film Awards
